San Antonio Coffee Challenge

MySA, a news publication about San Antonio, Texas, recently posted on their Instagram page that the Alamo city is getting a lot of new coffee shops. They showed some cool looking spots in downtown and around the Pearl.  This post inspired me to do a San Antonio Coffeeshop Challenge.

During this project I’m going to try as many local coffee shops as possible in the next 6 weeks.

By the end of the Coffeehouse Challenge, I will declare a winner based on the particular criteria below and will publish my list of top 5.

My criteria:

☕️ Coffee – the most important thing a coffee shop must offer is good coffee.  If the coffee sucks then what’s the point?

🪴 Ambiance – a coffee shop must have a good vibe. This includes aesthetics, pleasant music, and general good feel.

💻 Digital Nomad – I’m a marketing professional with a full time job at a Fortune 500 company. Luckily, my company offers hybrid work arrangements so I can work from anywhere. And I chose to work from coffeeshops sometimes. Therefore, things like good internet are a must.

😁 Overall Experience – I do work in Customer Experience, therefore I care about the level of service a business provides. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, cleanliness, customer service… all important.

🌟 Extra points will be awarded for roasting their own coffee, offering fun merchandise, or simply having a wow-factor that differentiates it from other coffee shops.

All coffee shops I visit will be local and must have wifi.  I will post individual reviews every week on this blog and on my instagram page.

Wanna do this challenge with me?  Follow along. If you are from the area, send recommendations.
